I love weddings. It might seem cheesy or silly, but a union between people to celebrate a commitment to getting through the tough s*** in life together is beautiful.

When I was asked to help create the invitations for my friends Chris and Lauren’s nuptials, I was taken aback and honored. Not only was I trusted and asked to create such an important piece of their special day but I was given creative freedom.

Lauren and Chris used their love for nostalgia and the arts to guide the aesthetic for their wedding. Influenced by Wes Anderson and color pallets of the 60’s and 70’s, I used classic collage and my illustrations to tell their story.

The illustration of the heart held by two skeleton hands was used through out the wedding, including hand screen printing koozies and creating a recycled vinyl record for guests to sign and helps the story carry from “The Lovers” tarot card motif of the Save the Date into the rest of the designs.
